I wanted to take the time to just say thank you Mrs. Bronner. I have known you for nearly 17 years. Initially, I admired you from afar. Like a lot of people I looked at you as this meek and quiet First Lady. I think the first time I actually heard you speak was on the way to Jamaica when we were traveling to a wedding. You may not recall but I remember thinking wow, she does talk and she is kinda funny. I was walking behind you and Pastor at the airport as we all were slowly making it through the Check-in line. That was my first real moment I think I connected with you, even though you weren’t really speaking with me. It was in that moment that I saw You, not First Lady, no Puddin but You. Mrs. Bronner has helped me out tremendously. As a wife and mother of three and twin boys on the way, I began to feel that I was losing my identity. When I moved away from Arkansas to start college in Atlanta, Georgia. I left behind my family and friends to start my new life alone in a state where I knew no one. When I met Mrs. Bronner and her family. I didn’t know what to expect from her. As a matter of fact I didn’t expect anything. I was alone, broke and needed a job and she provided me with help. However, what began as a job turned out to be so much more; more than any hourly salary could provide. She provided me with guidance. I had and still have many questions about my life; which direction to go, relationships, how to view the world so I started asking questions. I didn’t expect her to provide me with many of the answers she provided me with, but she answered them honestly and sincerely. In a world where it seems like everyone wants something, she didn’t. She would simply give me advice without wanting a thing in return. I noticed that most of the time she wouldn’t tell me what exactly to do but she would say something so powerful, something so thought provoking that when I would go home at the end of the night, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Most importantly, she really cared. Time would go by and she would bring that subject back up asking if I had thought about it no matter what it was and how much time had gone by. When I first moved to Atlanta, it was only to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. Coming from an uneducated background that was already going to be a huge accomplishment for my family and I. I never had anyone to push me or give me advice so that’s all I really was shooting for. However, around my last year of college Mrs. Bronner asked me what my goals were and had I ever thought about furthering my education? Have I ever considered a Master’s degree? At this time of course not. I did feel like I needed more training in my field but I didn’t think about continuing college. She motivated me to want to excel so I did. I applied for graduate school and now have a Master’s degree. Had she not ever put that thought in my mind or had me question It., I honestly don’t know if I would have gone. It has been one of the best decisions I could have made it my life. When I moved away from Atlanta to attend graduate school, it was very difficult for me. I didn’t want to leave her. She had provided me with such a positive environment and every time I was around her, her positivity about life would push me to better myself so much more.She will change and impact your life. She has without a doubt been a sensation and an angel in mine.
